Mystary still surround* the discovery on Saturday night of Mr Kahl at tha elda of Maaeay Road, Te Kauwhata, where he was lying unconsolous with severe head Injuries.

The discovery was made at 11.80 p.m. by Mr W. A. Watson as he turned his car in toward the gateway of his property. Widespread Inquiries throughout the district were made yesterday by police officers from Huntly and Pukekohe with the assistance of Deteetives Waterson and H. Wllaon, of Auckland. Little Information >of value could be gleaned, however. 6Jnce hla admission to hospital, Mr Kahl has had only brief periods of consciousness and, although he is very slightly Improved to-day, he has yet been unable to give the Hamilton police information as to how he was injured. When Mr Watson discovered Mr Kahl, he lifted him into his car and drove him to Dr. G. B. lsdale, of Nga» ruawahia. The doctor sent him to the Waikato Hospital, where the injuriei to the head were found to be very extensive. He was also badly hurt about the head and shoulders.

The spot where the Maori was found was about a mile north of Te Kauwhata. It is not certain when Mr Kahi arrived at Te Kauwhata from Pukekohe.
