“STICK ’EM UP”
ARMED HOLD-UP GARAGE ATTENDANT ASSAILANT MAKES OFF (By Telegraph.—Prees Association) DUNEDIN, Friday An armed hold-up was attempted about midnight at a petrol station In the centre of the city. Mr James Todd, the night attendant, states that a young man came in asking for a breakdown van, being told to wait while the driver was telephoned for. IVIr Todd went Into the office to make some entries and Immediately felt something Jammed against his back with the words ‘‘stick ’em up. I want the till.” Mr Todd wheeled, grasping the revolver with his left hand and sustaining a gash where the sight of the weapon tore his flech.
Tne intruder wrenched himself and the weapon free, decamping down Burlington Street.
An immediate police search failed to locate him. Mr Todd describes his assailants as young and fair-haired and wearing spectacles.
