YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS
MEETING OF COUNCiI GO v OD PROGRESS REPORTED A quarterly meeting of the Auckland council of young farmers’ clubs was held at Ruakura on Wednesday. ♦Mr D. S. Ross, chairman, presided over an attendance of 20 delegates, including Dr. 11. E. Annett, Messrs K. C. Jloekin. P. W. Sniulifleld and C. Walker. secretary. Members reported excellent progress of the movement in the various districts and considerable support for local club activities. In order to provide uniformity in debating contests a set of rules was approved. An endeavour is also being made to stage inter-provincial and national contests as well as Inter-dis-trict debates. Delegates stated IJl.il club members were taking an active interest in show competitions. Appreciation of the manner in which show executives had assisted by providing competitions was freely expressed. Proposals for an extension of radio activities for members were considered. and a decision was made to institute a regular monthly session. Final arrangements for the winter rally at. Ruakura were drawn up. This , will begin on July in and will last ai week. An attractive programme of | visits. addresses, demonstrations, j sports and debates has been prepared.
