ASH NUISANCE

COMPLAINT FROM FRANKTON REPORT BY INSPECTOR A further complaint from residents in the vicinity of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company’s box factory at Frankton regarding the nuisance caused by ash from t.he factory was received at the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last evening when a petition signed by 57 residents was read. The petition stated that not only was the ash nuisance very acute hut that food in safes was also being contaminated. | Mr J. W. Lewis, chief inspector, in a report to the council stated that ; complaints had been receded from I residents in 1926 about the same trouble and approximately £3OOO had been spent by the company in trying to abate the nuisance.
