TWO RESCUED AT RAGLAN VISITORS IN DIFFICULTIES Prompt action on the part of two men averted a possible tragedy at Ocean Beach. Raglan, yesterday when a young woman and a hoy of 10 caught in a strong undertow and carried out from the shore. The boy got into difficulties first and the young woman tried to help him ashore, but she, too, found herself being carried out To sea. Their cries, however, attracted the attention of men on the beach and one, Mr Bernard Gibson, of Te Awamutu, swain out while the other sought fur- - * ince. Mr Gibson, however, managed to bring the boy ashore and the young woman then reached the beach unassisted.

PUBLIC NOTICE COUNTY. COUNCIL. Notice is hereby given that the Waipa County Council proposes to raise a Special Loan under the provisions of “ The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.” The purpose for which the loan is required is for providing a water supply for the Norton Water Supply Special Rating Area. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £3300. The proposed security is a Special Rate of twopence and seven-tenths of a penny 2/7-tOd) in the pound on the rateable (unimproved) value of all rateable property in tlie Norton Water Supply Special Rating Area hereinafter described. It is proposed that the loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon at the rate of three pounds ten shillings (£3/10/-) per centum per annum, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a period not exceeding 25 years. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan, but not the interest and sinking fund for the first year. NORTON WATER SUPPLY SPECIAL RATING AREA.
