HIGH CASTE AGAIN VALAMITO WINS CHIEF HANDICAP

RESPECTFUL TAKES GOODWOOD Keen raring was a feature of the concluding day, yesterday, of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer carnival when ideal weather conditions attracted a large holiday attendance. High Caste won the Royal Stakes at cramped odds and Gay Son beat Stretto decisively in the Clifford Plate. The Nathans’ Memorial Handicap was to the credit of Valamito while in the open sprint Bachelor King sprang a mild surprise in accounting for Llangollen. Following are the concluding results:—

Gay Rebel, Bronze Trail, Midland and Rlngshot. At the hair-mile Silver F.agle was clear of Gay Rebel, Lady Meath, Midland, who were racing together in Tront nr Rlngshot, Gamos, Poland and Devon. As they approached the straight entrance Silver Eagle was just showing out from Lady MeAth (rails), Midland and Poland abreast with Very Glad, Coronation and Valdene at the head of the others. The field bunched as they straightened up Tor the run to the Judge, when Poland came with a sustained run over the last bit to win by hair-a Trom Melvanui, with Full Hand a head away third.
