MORRINBVILLE CLUB NEW GROUND OPENED (Special t<» Times) MOHIUNSVILLE. Saturday. The Morrlnsville Polo Club officially opened its season to-day when there was an attendance of about :ioo people at the Recreation Ground. About 7 0 polo ponies were used during- the day by ptayers from the Morrlnsvtlle, Matamata. Waihou, llauraki and Hikutaia Polo Clubs who took part in exhibition matches. Play took place on the new playin*fleld which has been formed as a result of the levelling of about 25 acres of the western portion of the Recreation Ground. The Mayor, Mr W. Hethermgton, was introduced by the club president, Mr E. \V. Jones, and declared the new polo ground open. Messrs J. M. Allen, M.P. Tor Hauraki, and W. S. Goosman. M.P. Tor Waikato, offered tiieir congratulations to the club. Mr J. Shallue. or Waihou, spoke on behalf or the visitors. In the main polo match the Wgihou A team, strengthened by .the inclusion of G. Peake, the Cambridge New Zealand representative player, defeated the Morrinsville A team by i goals to 2. The teams were as rollows: Morrlnsville: U. Spence, I. Harris, J. Klaus. F. Klaus. Waihou: Maurice Fitzgerald. Moss Fitzgerald, G. Wyborn and G. Peake. Mr A. L. Yule, of Hamilton, was referce.
