MISS MARGARET BEVERLEY OUT OF CHAMPIONSHIPS (Bv Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday The champion lady tennis player of New Zealand, Miss Margaret Beverley, of Matamata, suffered injuries to her right forearm when the car in which she was travelling skidded and • went over the bank on. a hill between Charteris Bay and Allandale, near Christchurch, yesterday. Miss Beverley was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 8.45 p.m. Several stitcnes were inserted in her right wrist and she is suffering considerably from shock, although her condition is not serious. She will he unable to participate further in the New Zealand tennis championship tournament. Miss Beverley won three titles last year when the New Zealand championships were held in Auckland. In addition to winning the women’s singles she was successful with her sister. Miss N. Beverley, in the women’s doubles and with J. W. Gunn, Oi Auckland, in the combined doubles.
