R. Nettheim. a Sydney stockbroker, who arrived at Wellington by the Awatea yesterday. “The regulations have reduced trading in stocks between Australia and New Zealand almost to vanishing point,” he added. Mr Nettheim said he thought New Zealand visitors to Australia should not have much difficulty in exchanging a limited number of New Zealand pound notes. They would be foolish, he thought, to accept as little as I4s 3d. as some people were reported to have done. The value should be about par.
