VICTORY DANCE
SUCCESSFUL EVENING PUKEMIRO LABOUR PARTY A very enjoyable evening was spent in the Miners’Alall, Pukemiro. on the occasion of a dance given by the local branch of the Labour Party. Three hundred people were present. The hall was gaily decorated with red and white streamers, balloons and greenery. The music was supplied by the Pukemiro Revellers’ Band, and Mr H. Kennedy was M.G. Mr W. Seddon, the president, welcomed the lion. W- ‘Lee Martin and Mrs Martin, the Rev. Mary Dreaver and Mr Dreaver (Auckland), Mr Thompson, vice-president of the Raglan Labour Representation Committee, and Mrs Thompson, Mr Whelan, secretary of the Labour Representation Committee, and Mrs Whelan (Ngaruawahia), Mr and Mrs Ward (Auckland) and Mr and Mrs Dowd (Iluntiy). A delicious supper was served by the ladies of the committeeMrs R. Drinnin and Mrs Kennedy were the hostesses, the former wearing black sheer georgette, and the latter a frock of brown silk taffeta. The Hon. W. T-.ee Martin and the Rev. Mary Dreaver gave addresses, which were appreciated. Musical honours were accorded the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. M. J. Savage, and tlie speakers, and bouquets were presented to Mrs Lee Martin and the Rev. Dreaver, by Mrs Drinnin. Among those present were:—Mesdames \V.
