QUEEN CARNIVAL.

COMMITTEE ENTERTAINED ENJOYABLE EVENING A very enjoyable function was held on Thursday evening when the Parish Queen committee and helpers in the recent Queen Carnival were entertained by Mr and Mrs D. Foley at their residence, in Firth Street. Mrs Foley received her guests wearing a frock of rose and blue flowered georgette. The toasts of the Queen, Miss Mary FoJev, and of Mr and Mrs Foley, were enthusiastically honoured.

During the evening Mr Foley expressed, on behalf of Mrs Foley and himself, their appreciation of the excellent work done by the committee and of their generous support during the months preceding the carnival. Mr J. Griffin paid a tribute to the work done by Mr and Mrs Foley which resulted in their success. Those present included:—Mesdames Stapleton, Curtis, Woodgate. Sweeney, Griffin, Hill, Roche (Wanganui), Murphy, Misses Bourke (2), Fitzgerald, Roche, Gothorp.
