KEEPING TRIM.

WENDY BARRIE’S REST PERIODS When not in front of the cameras, actresses in Hollywood turn to the outdoors in vigorous fashion to keep in trim and as relaxation after many hours tinder the grueling studio lights. Wendy Barrie, who is appearing with Edward G. Robinson in Columbia’s “I Am The Law,” remained at home for a week when she was not needed in certain sequences of the picture. Her “rest period” was spent on the tennis courts, in the ocean and on the back of a horse. Wendy explained it in this fashion: “I needed the vigorous exercise to relax my nerves and to keep my body in condition for the time when the studio would need me to go on with the picture.” A Gay Figure A gay figure on the tennis court is Wendy in a one-piece tennis suit of white pique, with halter neckline and a blue linen belt. Her hair is braided in two pigtails tied on each end with a tiny blue bow to keep it out of her eyes and for coolness. This is a new innovation in Hollywood and many of the other actresses are_copying this fashion for active sports. Wendy rides in white linen jodhpurs, matching blouse and stitched hat, black hoots and belt and for a touch of colour, has her initials embroidered on her pocket in red. Wendy's favourite colour is white. She chooses it for her hand-knit bathing suit, throws over it a brilliant red finger-tip length towelling robe and finishes it off with red cork-soled scndals.
