WELCOME HOME
ALL BLACK HONOURED A welcome home in the. Te Mata Kail was tendered Mr W. J. Phillips, the All Black footballer, by his many friends in the district recently. The hall was crowded, all parts of the Raglan district being well represented, also Kawhia and Hamilton. Gilrnour Brothers’ orchestra supplied the music for the dancing and Mr F. Vernon was M.C. Extras were contributed by Miss Alison Fuller and Mr I. Munns. A delicious supper was provided by the Tc Mata ladies. Mr L. C. Ilird, on behalf of the Raglan Football Club, and Mr F. Gibbison, on behalf of kindred sports bodies conveyed congratulations to the guest-ol-honour. Mr \V. G. Vernon presented the guest of the evening with a handsome leather suitcase from the residents of the district. Mr Phillips returned thanks for the kindly welcome home. Musical honours were accorded and dancing was continued.
