TEACHER HONOURED

FAREWELL AT KAHUTARA COMING TO HAMILTON Residents of the Kahutara (Wairarapa) district met recently to farewell Mr and Mrs W. Russell, who are leaving shortly to take up their residence in Hamilton. Mr Russell has been the head teacher at Kahutara School for a number of years, and he and Mrs Russell have, taken a keen interest in the social and sporting activities in the district. Both received parting gifts from the various organisations to which they had lent their support—the itennis club, Wairarapa Golf Club. the Women's Institute, and the Drama Circle. During the evening Mr Playel, chairman of the school committee, presented Mr Russell with a handsome chiming clock, and voiced his committee’s regret at losing such a fine Mrs Russell was presented with posies from the junior and senior children.
