Yeoman collapsed and left the field ’ for attention after scoring his • first goal ten minutes after half-time. He headed the ball into the net, and ’ was accidentally punched on the nose hv the goal-keeper, who attempted to punch clear. Blood streamed from Yeoman’s nose, but he soon returned to tho field. The second goal scored by Yeoman came after a brilliant and tricky run by Christophersen and a perfect centre. Several times in the second half New South Wales looked certain to score, but was prevented from doing so by sound play. Davey and Singer ' j were confident, and showed fine ball r control. It was hard to find fault r j with the team in any respect. Boddy, ’ I with powerful kicks, often saved his l side. r ; The New Zealand managers were 1 satisfied with the team’s exhibition. Two heavy backs were not available ‘ owing to sickness.
