TUG TO COST £54,000
HARBOUR BOARD’S ORDER HEAVY ITEM OF EXCHANGE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday A new tug of 1250 horsepower is to be built for the Lyttelton Harbour Board at a total cost *of £54,062 10s. Jhe board decided it a special mooting this morning to accept the lender of Luhnitz and Company, Renfrew, oi £13,250. To that must be added exchange amounting to £10,812 10s. The contract stipulates that the vessel must be completed in '4 months. With maximum dimensions of ii:» feet by 29 lent by 1 i feet, tlie tug will be fitted with a fire, pump, a firefighting attachment and a salva-' suction pump. It will he powered wi,h a steam engine.
