SLIP STRIKES TRAIN
DAMAGE NEAR TUNNEL ORDEAL FOR PASBENGERB (By Telegraph Press Association) DUNEDIN, Tuesday A slip at Blanket Bay, close to the entrance of the Sawyers Bay tunnel, struck the 11.15 Port Chalmers train last evening, breaking the windows of two carriages and damaging the bridges connecting them. The passengers were not taken off until 1.45, reselling port at 2 a.m. It was raining heavily and they had to struggle through deep water and mud to buses. Fortunately, the train crew had been advised of a minor earlier slip and were proceeding cautiously.
