AERIAL MISHAPS
ANXIETY IN AUSTRALIA FORCED LANDING ON BEACH (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. BRISBANE, June 13 Anxiety was caused to-day for t!i • safety of an air liner which left Cairns at 6.10 a.m. for Townsville, but failed to arrive. There was one passenger, in addition to the pilot. A search by air was made this afternoon. Later, however, it was found that the machine had made a forced landing on a beach and the occupants were unharmed. No damage was done to the aeroplane.
BHED A PROPELLOR
EXCITEMENT IN MID-AIR United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright MELBOURNE. June 13 A Fokker aeroplane which was being used for joy rides from Essendon aerodrome to-day shed a propeller in mid-air. There were five passengers aboard. The machine landed safely at Footscray Park. WRECKAGE FOUND United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright NEW YORK, June 13 The wreckage of the air liner whi:h disappeared on March l while flying from San Francisco to Los' Angeles during the storm which caused the disastrous California flood, has been found on a mountainside in the Yosemite National Park. The machine was partially buried in the snow. The bodies of the nine persons were also found.
MACHINE CRASHES
THREE OCCUPANTS KILLED United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright NAIROBI, June 12 Three British occupants of a WilsonAirway machine, chartered by the Tanganyika Government, were killed in a crash 50 miles from Singida. They were Mr C. F. M. Swynnerton, Director of Tsetse Research in Tanganyika Territory; Dr. 13. D. Burtt, a botanist; and Mr William Bawden, pilot. The wreckage was discovered by members of the Royal Air Force alter the aeroplane had been missing for three days.
