TO SUBMARINE CREWS DEDICATED IN KIEL BAY United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright BERLIN. June 12 Commemorating the 5000 officers and men of German submarines who lost their lives in the Great War, a 70ft. column was dedicated to-day in Kiel Bay. It replaces a smaller memorial. Two stone halls adjoin tlie column, one containing a sculpture :led:ca:ed to the crew of a sinking submarine,* and the other enshrining four books in which are inscribed in gold letters the names of the dead.
