PASSING THROUGH AUCKLAND BIG EVENT IN SEPTEMBER . (By Tele'raph.— Press A??ocla'ioni AUCKLAND, Monday Evans Paddon, the champion sculler of Australia, who has challenged Bobby Pearce, for the* world sculling championship, is a through passenger on the Niagara. His father, Jim Paddon, the former world champion, who defeated D’Arcv Iladlleld on the Wanganui River in' 1922, is manager and trainer. The championship event will be held on Lake Ontario, Toronto, in September, the stake being £SOO a side.
