INCREASED REVENUE
FISHING license returns STEADY INCREASE AT ROTORUA A review of the returns from the sale of fishing licenses over the past three seasons in the Rotorua acclimatisation district was given by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the * HonW. E. Parry, speaking in Hamilton on Saturday evening. In that district the number of Ashing licenses issued for the 1935-36 season was 9347 with a revenue of £4199. In PJ3C-3* the number rose to 10,514 licenses with £4737 revenue while for the 1937-3* season the number of licenses had. with some returns still to come, reached the targe total of 12,121, and the revenue £5292. It was estimated that another *oo could be added to the number of licenses and £4OO revenue to the figures quoted for the 1937-3* fishing season in this districtincreased Auckland Fee •*I have not been able to ascertain the number of fishina licenses issued In the other North Island acclimatisation districts.” said the Minister. “The annual reports and balance sheets of the societies show that f«»r the joar in each case end ng on .March 31. the revenue was for 1936. £2303: for 1937, £3744; and for 1938. with a few amounts which at present cannot be ascertained. £#2*7. “For the latter season, of course, there was provision for higher license fees.
