TRAINEES FOR AUSTRALIA TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION (By Telegrapn.—Tresc \cenc!a*'nn) DUNEDIN, Friday In an interview the Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, stated that arrangements had been made with the Commonwealth Air Board for a limited number from the New Zealand Air Force to be sent to Australia for training in technical trades. Cabinet had approved an immediate attachment of two fitter armourers and two fabric workers, and latpr it. was proposed to send two men for training as instrument makers and repairers. The Minister also stated that in accordance with the co-operation policy between New Zealand and the Royal Air Force, Flight-Lieutenant F. R. Newell, at present serving at Wigram. had been selected to attend the Royal Air Force Staff College course hi 1939. The Minister further announced the appointment of Flight-Lieutenant Agar to a short service commission with the New Zealand Air Force. Mr Agar is relinquishing a mediumForce to take this appointment
