IMPROVED BUSINESS
SHOW WEEK IN HAMILTON BF.ST PERIOD FOR SOME YEARS Winter show week this year proved a substantial improvement on last year for the business community of Hamilton as well as for the Waikato Winter Show Association, according to opinions expressed to a Waikato Times representative by managers of the leading retail houses in the town to-day. It was pointed out by one or two business men that last year's show period had been quieter than usual, but the 193 d season had ended even better than many anticipated. In the opinion of one manager, the period was the best for business for a number of years-
With most visitors coming to town primarily to see the show, a relatively quiet week had been anticipated, said another executive, hut business had been uniformly brisk throughout the eight shopping days of the season. Yet another business house experienced its busiest days on the Friday and the Tuesday, the manager stating that this year there had seemed to be a greater proportion than ever of strangers in town, both on business and for pleasure.
