OTOROHANGA NOTES FARMERS’ CLUB BALL The Otorohanga Town Hall pre- | sented an animated scene recently on the occasion of the first annual ball | held under the au-spices of the Otoro- j hanga branch of the Young Farmers' ! Club. There was a large attendance, j many representatives of fraternal i branches of the club being present, j Phil Campbell's orchestra, from Hamilton, provided excelltnt dance music, while novelty dances were enjoyed. VALEDICTORY MR AND MRS S. VINCENT There was a large attendance of settlers and their families of the Waitomo Valley, Honikiwi and Otorohanga districts to farewell Mr and Mrs Vincent and family, who are leaving the district after a long residence. The function was held in the woolshed on Graham's farm at Honikiwi, and took the form of a social and dance. Eulogistic references were made by various speakers to the guests-of-honour. On behalf of the settlers, Mr Graham presented Mr Vincent with a hair-brush set, and Mrs Vincent with a valuable travelling rug and dressingtable set. Presents were also received by the three sons of Mr and Mrs Vincent. The Maoris of the Hauturu Pa gave a farewell dance which was much enjoyed by the guests. Monologue entertainment was provided by Mr Austin and Mr William Kohi. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne" and “For They are Jolly Good Fellows" brought the enjoyable function to a close.
