N.Z. POLO TEAMS

RETURN FROM SYDNEY REACHED WELLINGTON TO-DAY (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The polo teams returned from Sydney by the Wanganella to-day. With the exception of McKenzie, who Is from Hawke’s Bay, all are Waikato players being Nolan, G. Peake, and K. Peake; also fielded was the A B team, consisting of two emergencies and two others and altogether with grooms, polo enthusiasts, etc., the party numbered 22. Twenty-six ponies were taken over of which eight were sold and one destroyed, the other 17 being brought back. For two of these £350 each was offered in Australia, but the owners would not sell preferring to keep them to defend the gold cup when the time came. Whether that will be in the centennial year, 1940, has not yet been determined.
