AGRICULTURAL MUSEUM
COMMITTEE APPOINTED SHOW ASSOCIATION’S ACTION A committee to investigate the proposals outlined by Mr Gilbert Archey. Director of the Auckland Institute and Museum, in connection with a museum of agriculture Hamilton was appointed at a meeting of the committee of Ihe Waikato Winter Show Association to-day. Mr Archey submitted a brief outline of what he considered the scope of a museum might be. As the entries in the various show sections would not close until the end of tlie week, the secretary, Mr W. H. Paul, was unable to give any Idea of the size of the various classes, but he stated that the poultry section, which was complete, was larger than that of last year. An interesting historical exhibit would be an enlarged portrait of Mr C. Marshall, the first white man to settle in the Waikato. Messrs W- E. Clark and J. Ballard, who recently returned from Australia, gave an interesting description of the Sydney Royal Show, making special mention of the organisation of the ring events and the district courts.
