COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

FUNCTION AT MANAWARU At the home of Mr and Mrs A. J. Carmichael, Manawaru, recently, the coming-of-age of their eldest son, Mr William Carmichael, was celebrated by over 100 guests. Dancing on the lawns to radio music was enjoyed and community singing was led hy Miss Mona Ryan. Songs contributed by Misses D. Cullen and E. Franish and Messrs It. Franish and L. O’Dea, were highly appreciated. The toast of the guest-of-honour was proposed by Mr J. O’Sullivan. Mr E. W. Carmichael suitably responded and Mr A. J. Carmichael then asked Mrs Carmichael to present her son with the key of the house.
