RIVERTON ENGAGEMENTS (By Teleg-aph.—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Thursday ThP death has occurred at Riverton of Mr George Rain, one of Southland's best-known trainers. During the past 20 years ho had some good horses, and at the time of his death had Royston and Barley Almond, both engaged at the Riverton meeting, in work. One of the best horses be owned and trained was Bay Duke, with whom lie won a number of important races. The late Mr Bain expressed a wish that his horses should fulfil their engagements at the Riverton meeting, and they will race in Mr A. Chisholm s colours.
