RAISING FUNDS
HAMILTON BAND FAIR With the object of raising funds to allow the band to compete at the South Auckland band contest this year a free fair was staged at the Drill flail. Hamilton, to-day, by the Hamilton Municipal and Regimental Band. A variety of stalls was kept busy during the afternon, .those helping being Mesdames V. Browne, J. Wells and Miss J. Redman sweets), Mesdames J. R. Fow. A. E. Savage. A. Redman and Miss G. Redman plain end fancy work ; Mesdames R. Adams, V. H. Crowhurst jumble stall : Mesdsuies A. Waterson and A. Gilmer 'drinks and Ice cream . Mesdames F. Kniicht. L. J. Ashworth. L Totinan (prodnre > ; Mesdaiii»*s G. K. Wilkes, V. Worth, D. Gate. \. \y*» and Miss F. Lowrie. The fair was officially opened this afternoon by Colonel R. D. McFarland, and will runtinue this evening A baby show was held this afternoon and this evening elocution and singing competitions wiil be held, interspersed with band and other items. Mrs J. Elvey will be in charge of the competitions.
