YEAR REVIEWED
MUSIC STUDENTS HIGH STANDARD OF PERFORMERS There was a particularly large attendance at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Music Students’ Society held in the Centreway tearooms last evening. Mrs. A. English presided. In her annual report Mrs. English stated that she hoped membership last year would be increased during the coming season. The standard of Che concerts, in which local talent figured prominently, was particularly ; high. It was very satisfactory to see j student members carrying away with I them their ideas and developing them in other circles. The balance-sheet revealed a very satisfactory position. That the society should encourage more outside artists was an opinion expressed by Mr E. McLellan. He considered that such action would be very beneficial. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. A. English; vicepresident, Mrs. H. Hammond; secretary, Miss 1. Leek; treasurer, Mr. R. Bennett; committee, Mrs. J. <R. Wilson, Misses M. Roe, P. Wilkins, N. Peterson, Messrs. E. McLellan and H. G. Cooke; auditor, Mr. A. English.
