POLO “ALL BLACKS” I MATCH AT CAMBRIDGE MANY SPECTATORS Despite the recent week of polo at Claudelands a large number of enthusiasts gathered at the polo ground at Cambridge on Saturday to witness the “All Black” team in a game against a team of chosen players. A long line of cars drew up to the sideline to make stands for the spectators. An occasional light shower was responsible for the appearance of a few smart autumn ensembles among the feminine onlookers, although the majority favoured lighter summer frocks, in the ever popular linens or novelty crepes. MRS OXBROW FAREWELLED CAMBRIDGE METHODISTS MEET After a meeting of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild in Cambridge last week, members remained for a short social hour to farewell Mrs W. J. Oxbrow, who after several years ■spent in Cambridge, is leaving shortly. A competition was held, the winner being Mrs R. Melville. Miss Florence Carter entertained with vocal solos. Before afternoon tea was served, Mrs G. H. Palmer, in expressing the good wishes of those present, presented Airs Oxbrow with a gift and a beautiful bouquet of crimson dahlias and maidenhair fern.
