Morris 10, POPE’S RESENTMENT CRITICISM OF BISHOP VATICAN CITY, April 1 The Pope’s deep resentment at the Austrian Bishops’ exhortation to the Catholics to support the Anschluss plebiscite was revealed in a sensational broadcast in German from the Vatican City station, condemning the Bishops for their intrusion into politics without authorisation. The broadcaster said: “It is not the duty of the Church to make declarations ol a political and economic nature, and when they do they are guilty of a breach of trust and loyally. The Government has granted a license to Pan-American Airways to eslaDlish a base on Canton Island, permuting the erection of structural and ground facilities.
