The slightness of the reduction in values is remarkable and indicates oonAdence, which must be supported by the optimism of consumers and distributors. An outstanding feature of the London sales has been the strength of crossbreds, particularly the lowest grades, owing to smaller arrivals. There is no sign of increased consumption. The Yorkshire mills continue to operate on a reduced scale. Nevertheless, it Is diAlcult to imagine that Merinos can decline much further, in view of the low average price for greasy wools which the growers are receiving. _______
