Welch, presided over a well-attended meeting or the executive or the Ngaruawahia Regatta Association last evening l . In connection with the association’s complaints regarding 1 the inadequate supply of current on the night preceding the regatta, Messrs. T. Minton, chairman or the Central Waikao Electric-Power Board. Mr J. R. Ellis, engineer-manager, and Mr S. S. Saulbrey. member of the board lor Ngaruawahla, were present at the meeting. It was stated that the association had entailed a loss or income through snowmen refusing to have their tents connected because or the low voltage. In view or the tact that the association was negotiating with tne Power board regarding a lighting scheme to cost. £MB, the hoard’s engineer. Mr Ellis, agreed to consider the provision or a special transformer tor the association. The takings at the regatta totalled Donations of to the Plunket Society and L'c. i’s to the st.
