MEETINGS IN HAMILTON OLD BOYB CLUB’S YEAR ELECTION OF OFFICERS Mr H. Saunders presided at the annual meeting of the Old Boys Football Club. The report on the year's activities stated that the club entered three teams in the Hamilton Rugby Union competition’s last season. After a rather doubtful start the seniors settled down and tied with Frankton as runners-up in the Stag competition. Much of the team’s success was due to the coaching of Mr J. Tuck. The Juniors, through accidents to members and the fact that the seniors had to draw from their ranks, did not meet with as much success as expected. Although the third grade team did not gain a place in the competitions they played excellently throughout the season. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr R. Gilling; management committee, seniors, Messrs N. Turner, H. D. Tait, J. R. Fitz-Gerald, 11. Sayers and T. Gilling; Juniors, Messrs N. Delaney and W. Roper; third grade, Messrs W. Higginson and A. Crozier; coaches, seniors, Mr 11. D. Tait; juniors, Mr T. Caskey; third grade, Mr C. E. Thomas; selectors, Mr A. E. Gibbons and the coaches. ( MARIST CLUB’S FUTURE VIEWED WITH APPREHENSION The executive views with apprehension the future existence of the club, owing to a marked decline in club spirit and unity during the past year.” stated the report presented at the annual meeting of the Marist Football Club. Mr M.‘ O’Halloran presided. A senior and a junior team were entered In the Hamilton competitions but they failed to gain any degree of success, owing to lack of training, continued the report. The senior team, of which much was expected, did not fulfil expectations, for out of a season of 14 competition games only two were won. one was drawn and 11 were lost. The'junior team also experienced a lean season owing to its lack of training. Of the 11 competition games played two were won and nine were lost. The team was obliged to withdraw from the competitions owing to its poor club spirit. On account of their services over a number of years, Messrs F. Buckingham and J. M. Mills were elected life members. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Rev. Brother Remigius; president, Mr M. O’Halloran; secretary, Mr J. M. Mills; treasurer, Mr J. Trotter; auditor, Mr E. A. Cox; club surgeon, Dr. T. A. Milroy; club captain. Mr P. Clarkin; club chaplain, Rev. Father Ryan; delegates to Hamilton Rugby Union, Messrs M. O’Halloran, P. Clarkin, and J. M. Mills; delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr M. OTIalloran; committee, Messrs P. Clarkin, G. Donnelly, G. Whiting, W. McGloin and Rev. Brother Aloysius; delegates to conference in Napier, Messrs J. Trotter, W. McGloin and J. M. Mills. The election of coaches and selectors was left to the incoming committee. It was decided that the club’s only nomination Tor the local competitions would be a fourth grade team. RUGBY REFEREES CAMBRIDGE ASSOCIATION (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The annual meeting of the Cambridge Rugby Referees’ Association was held recently. The balan'ce sheet showed a small credit. The election of officers resulted as follows': Patron., president of Cambridge Rugby Union; president, Mr D. E. Scott; vice-president, Mr L. C. Bear: secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Wallace: delegate to Cambridge Rugby Union, Mr C. Wallace; delegates to Waikato Rugby Referees’ Association, Messrs D. E. Scott and C. Wallace. The retiring president, Mr A. J. Dotchin, tendered his resignation, and appreciation of Ills services was placed on record.
