NEW BRITISH TORPEDO BOAT WILL TRAVEL 50 KNOTS AN HOUR

One of the new motor torpedo boats, the fastest and most powerful vessel of its type in existence, which will add to the effective strength of t he Royal Navy, photographed while undergoing' trials at Portsmouth, England. The boat (above) made approximately 50 knots during her trial run. 10 knots faster than that of an earlier type of motor torpedo boat in use. She is equipped to fire 21-inch instead of 18-inch torpedoes, and can discharge them ahead or astern. The boat is driven by a marine engine unit of 1000 h.p.
