HER HUSBANDS PRIDE Lady Nuffield says a writer in an Australian paper'; is tall and slim and about “brown” in colouring. Viscount Nuffield likes to talk about his wife, and there is a look of prido in his smile whenjie says she can beat him at golf. The grin extends when he talks about his wife’s car-driving. “She's an expert,” he said. “In fact, she’s one of the few women drivers I care to sit alongside.’’ Lady Nufileld drives her own Wolseley. She is mad about gardening . . . their home is at Huntercombe, Hen-ley-on-Thames . . . and dogs, of course. She has three Aberdecns— Mac, Peter and Jock. Lord Nuffleld’s greatest pride is in his wife’s skill as a meedlewoman. She knits him lots and lots of jumpers. It Is a pity for Australians and New Zealanders that Lady Nufileld dislikes ocean travelling, or we would see her here. too. Lord Nuffield picked out Australia for every one of his five holidays.
