TRAFFIC AGAIN NORMAL STORM DAMAGE REPAIRED RAINFALL IN HAMILTON Normal rail and road services have been restored to-day after large gangs of men had been employed on the damaged sections, repairing the slips caused by the torrential rain storm on Wednesday night. The main trunk railway line, which had been damaged by a slip at Drury, is now carrying normal traffic hut speed restrictions have been imposed on the repaired length with the result that south-bound trains from Auckland are running a few minutes late. None of the trains are hours late, as they were yesterday, owing to transhipping at the slip, however. The Taneatua line is clear again following the extensive slips which dislocated traffic yesterday. The rainfall in Hamilton for the 24 hours, ended 9 a.m. this morning was half-a-inch, making the total for February to date 6.60 inches. At Ruakura the recording was .23in for the 24 hours. The Waikato River has risen a further foot over night, making the rise during the storm period 4ft. 6ins. At present the river is very high for February and well above the average sum-
