Feb. 16 At the wool sales to-day 11,2 88 bales were offered and 954 4 sold, including 746 privately. Competition was fairly well maintained for all descriptions. A noticeable feature was the demand for super-quality clips showing good length staple, prices for which are hardening. Greasy merino made up to 2 lid. Copyright MELBOURNE, Feb. 16 The Woolgrowers’ Council has decided to ask all Dominion growers’ representatives when they meet in London shortly to consider a plan to fix a minimum reserve on prices of wool in future seasons. The proposal is inspired by the low prices of the current season. No similar action has been taken yet by the Dominions in conjunction but In 1923 the Australian growers established a reserve price. The plan was controlled by a system of export licenses, but onls cert tin crossbreds fell to tlie reserve price of 8d and the {•lan was abandoned after six months.
