Mr C. A. Cuming, of New Plymouth, is visiting Hamilton. Mr J. Alexander, of Sydney, is at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr M. P. Dudley has been appointed head teacher of the Horsham Downs School. Mr R. Worley, Hamilton borough engineer, has left for Dunedin to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Civil Engineers. Mr 11. P. Hopkins, Dominion manager of the Royal Insurance Company, will retire on February -28. His successor will bn Mr H. G. Wiley, New Zealand manager of the Liverpool, London and Globe Insurance Company. Messrs G. W. Tyler (Greymouth), W. P. Carter ’Wellington), L. Payne (Napier;, W. L. McKay New Plymouth.. 11. Ingle (Tauranga), C. (Maxwell. W. Marshall, and 11. Jardin Auckland) are at the Midland Hotel. Cabled advice was received in Wellington this morning from the Jury of Awards of the Royal Institute of British Architects, that the 1937 Gold Medal of the New Zealand Institute of Architects had been awarded Mr 11. L. Massey, of Auckland, for his design of Cintra Flats, Auckland. Canon R. B. S. Hammond, organiser of the Hammondville Pioneer Homes Settlement, Sydney, is paying his second visit of inspection to the settlements of the Waikato Land Settlement Society. Canon Hammond arrived in Hamilton from Auckland last evening and is the guest of Mr D. V. Bryant, at Te Rapa. Messrs E. Nees, H. J. Knight, D. H. Scott, H. Wall (Wellington), H. H. Withers (Wairoa), A. Mills (Pahlatua), P. J. Law (Shannon), H. Gilbertson (Palmerston North), G. S. Penney (Kaikohe), E. H. Brown (Whangaroa), A. T. Davies (Kaipara Flats), R. Phillips (Wark worth), R. Wilding (Christchurch), K. M. Bowling (Tauranga), A. K. Mond, M. G. White (Gisborne L C. Waymouth Whafigarei), J. E. Shannon, A. S. Bailey, J. Ferris and J. W. Roberts (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
