WAIKATO TENNIS TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES GOOD PLAY BY B. DOLD The final matches of the Waikatt Lawn Tennis Association's annua, tournament, which were postponed on •Saturday owing to rain, were played at the Hamilton Club's courts to-day in extremely warm weather. The courts were faster than at any other stage of the fixture, although not really hard. Results were:— CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS Men's Bingles Semi-final.—D. C. Coombe (Wellington) beat B. Dold (Waikato), 9—ll, 6 1, 6—l, 6—4. Combined Doubles Final,—Coombe (Wellington) and Miss N. Beverley (Waikato) won from R. D. Sharpe and Miss M. Glenny Hawke's Bay), by default. V Ladles’ Doubles Misses N. and M. Beverley (Waikato), won from Misses Glenny (Hawke's Bay ' and E. Plummer (Wellington) by default. Ladies’ Singles Final.—Miss N. Beverley (Waikato), beat Miss E. Plummer (Wellington), 7 6—l.
