FRUIT IMPORTATIONS STATE CONTROL SCHEME MINISTER’S CONFIRMATION WELLINGTON, Friday Confirmation of the report that the scheme being formulated for the control of the internal marketing of New Zealand fruit also involves the control over fruit importations was forthcoming from the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, in an interview today. All bananas and oranges required for the Dominion, he said, would be imported and distributed through the usual trade channels. Questioned whether this involved importation by the Government, Mr Nash said he could not give any information at present because the growers were now discussing with the merchants the procedure to follow. They arc working it out, he said.
