TOURNAMENT RESULTS COURTS WET AND HEAVY great recovery in doubles The courts were wet and heavy after overnight rain when the Waikato tennis championships were continued today. As a result the standard of play suffered and in the earlier matches the contestants had difficulty in keeping their footing, and several played in bare feet. The semi-final of the women's doubles between Misses M. Glenny ; Hawke’s Bay) and E. Plummer (Wellington) and Misses B. L. and L. Bishop, of Auckland, was remarkable for the recoveries made by the winning Pair, who won the first set at B—6 after being down 2—4, and the second 1 —5 after trailing their opponents 3 Playing under difficult conditions, D. Livingstone and B. Dold were just too good for Sharpe and Andrews in semi-finals of the men’s championsnip doubles. Dold was driving consistently and Livingstone was scoring well from the net. The winner’s success was deserved as they to have the situation well in hand at the critical periods. Latest results are:— Championship Events Men's Doubles.—Semi-final: D. Livingstone and B. Dold (Waikato) beat R. D. Sharpe (Hawke's Bay) and M. Andrews (Waikato), 6—4, 6—3. Women's Doubles.—Misses M. Glenny (Hawke's Bay) and E. Plummer (Wellington) beat Misses B. L. and L. Bishop (Auckland), B—6, 7—3. Ladles' Championship Singles Semi-final: Miss E. Plummer (Wellington) beat Miss Potter (Auckland), 6—3, 6—3. Handicap Events.—Men’s A grade singles.—Semi-final: M.
