TE KAUWHATA BALE Messrs 0. W. Vercoe and Company, Ltd., report having held their fortnightly stock sale at Te Kauwhata when a heavy yarding of cattle came forward. * Competition on all classes was keen throughout, and a total clearance was effected at advanced rates. Heavy fat cows sold from £8 to £8 14s; well-finished medium weights, £7 to £7 15s. others £8 5s to £fi 17s 6d, light to £5 15s; heavy fat Jersey cows, £6 to £8 10s, lighter to £5 ss; good quality mediumweight Jersey heifers to £5 15s, light to £5; forward-conditioned Shorthorn and Friesian cows to £5 7s 6d, others to £4 10s; cows with calves, to £4 15s; 18-months in-calf Jersey heifers, to £5 7s 6d; Jersey heifer calves, to £2; heavy boners £3 5s to £4, 4s others to £3; potter bulls, heavy £7 10s to £9, medium £6 to £7 ss, light to £5 15s. Sheep.—Full-mouth ewes, to 17s; cull ewes, to 8s 6d; fat and forward lambs, to 18s; good store lambs, to 14s 6d, small to 12s Bd. Pigs.—A heavy yarding of fat pigs sold under keen competition, and prices throughout remained very firm. A small yarding of store pigs sold at rates slightly in advance of those of the previous sale. TE PUKE SHEEP FAIR The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held the second sheep fair of the season at their Te Puke saleyards on Tuesday. The advertised lines of East Coast ewes shipped from Hicks Bay to Tauranga came forward in good condition. The majority of the shipments were young ewes from twotooth to fo\ir years, but a few lines of five-year-olds met with a ready sale at advanced rates on recent quotations.
