YOUNG LONDON CARPENTER EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEED (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Carrying a guarantee of employment for three years as a carpenter and joiner at trade union rates in New Zealand, a young London carpenter who had worked his passage on the steamer Port Melbourne signed off the vessel at Auckland this morning and later left for Wellington where he expects to be given work on the Government's housing scheme. He figures he will be better off at £0 weekly for 40 hours in New Zealand than on £3 17s 6d he had been earning in a longer week in London.
