Inspector George Bennett, a Londoner. who is in charge of the police station at Soochow Greek, informed the Police Chief that Japanese marines severely manhandled him when he went to the naval headquarters in connection with allegation that he had impeded the progress of a Japanese military motor-cyclist. Inspector Bennett explained that the cyclist was unable to pass his car, which was obstructed by a lorry ahead. Sergeant James Stuart, a Londoner, complains that when he went to the Japanese headquarters to discover the reason for Inspector Bennett's prolonged absence he was attacked and forcibly ejected. Copyright NEW YORK, Jan. 3 A message from Colon, Panama, says that, troubled by a strong boycott of Japanese goods, merchants there nevertheless managed to clear their shelves, and then sent replenishing orders instead to Hie United States, in spite of the greater cost. They have discovered that their troubles are only beginning. The shipments have arrived from the United States, but all the articles are labelled “Made In Japan.”
