SIX WICKET MARGIN
CANTERBURY BEATEN WIN FOR WELLINGTON (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The match between Wellington and Canterbury ended very early, Wellington winning by six wickets. The match thus ended in two and ahalf hours short of two days’ play—an unusual thing. This was due to Canterbury’s failure in their second innings. Canterbury scored 197 in their flnt innings and Wellington were not very far ahead with 231. A close light was anticipated, but the Canterbury batsmen failed badly in their second innings, and they were all out for 99, I, B. Cromb playing a fine innings for 39. The two Palmerston North bowlers, Pritchard and Gallichao, headed the bowling averages. Wellington only required 66 to win and they secured these with six wickets to spare.
