COSMETIC RECIPE
USED BY CLEOPATRA Discovery by Dr. A. Fonahn. natural scientist at the university in this city, of a recipe said to have belonged to Queen Cleopatra, has led to the preparation of modern cosmetics based on prescriptions used by this beautiful Egyptian nearly 2000 years ago, writes the Christian Science Monitor. It is thought to be part of her lost treatise, "Kosmetikon Biblion." For many years after his discovery Dr. Fonahn" found it impossible to obtain the required ingredients, as the World War had stopped regular trade from the East. After further investigation and \x r ith the co-operation of Sirs Augusta Cranner Hutten, assistant at the Oslo Ethnological Museum, he was able to secure the necessary Oriental fats and other materials, with the result that it is now possible to reproduce the recipe, which is called, in the original language, "Queen Cleopatra’s costly ointment."
