MELBOURNE, Jan. 3 j At the Mentone Turf Club’s meeting to-day, Sindicada won the Summer Handicap, with Royal Quex third, and < Pantoon unplaced. The finish of the Tolgarno Welter Handicap had a New Zealand flavour, Palatinate beating Epigram, who was first past the post, but a protest was upheld, and the placings were reversed. Details:—
