VALUES AT FRANKTON SLOW BEEF BALE OTHER LINES DEARER The market was very quiet at the weekly Frankton stock sale to-day wh'pi small yardings were forward in most sections. Apart from the fat cattle offering the values improved all round on those ruling prior to the holiday.
A small entry of ox beef was slow of sale values for light fat bullocks ranging from £lO 17s 6d to £l2 2s 6d. Other descriptions made to £lO. Fat cows met with little better request and passings were made on many of the better pens. Values for good fat sorts ranged from £7 5s to £7 19s, with plainer offerings realising £5 to £6 10s. There was an improved tone for all classes of sheep which came forward in fair numbers. The advance was approximately Is per head. Wethers in particualr met a more buoyant market.
A small entry of fat pigs contained a few good baconers, but here again values advanced on last sale quotations. There was little change in store**
pig values. Quotations: Light fat bullocks, £ll 5s to £l2 2s 6d; smaller. £lO 7s 6d to £11; fat cows, £6 17s 6d to £7 19s; lighter. £4 5s to £5 ss. Sheep: Prime fat wethers, 28s to 30s; fat, 25s 6d to 27s 6d: unfinished, 24s to 24s 6d; fat ewes, 15s 6d to 18s; fat hoggets, 25s to 26s 3d; fat lambs, 23s -6d to 28-s; lighter. 15s (Td to 21s. Pigs: Baconers, 55s to 775; porkers, 32s to 535.
